Import stock from Excel
Bring your own Excel sheet from another system, with any column headings.
You can bring a sheet from another system. It does not need our headings or all columns.
Steps
- Go to Stock and click Import Excel.
- Choose your file (and the sheet, if the file has several).
- Check the column mapping. Each of our fields has a dropdown of your file's headings, filled in by guess. Fix any that are wrong.
- Look at the preview of the first rows and the notes under it.
- Click Apply. Nothing is saved before you click Apply, and it is saved as one step.
What if columns are missing
- No code column: each new drug gets a code like P000001. Existing drugs are matched by code or name.
- Quantity but no batch: the stock goes in as batch OPENING with no expiry. If your pharmacy requires an expiry on every batch, the row is refused.
- Name only: the drug is created with price 0 and no stock. Receiving asks for the selling price when it is 0.
Fill from the register
A tick-box, on by default, fills blank generic name, form and strength from the best register match. It never changes what your sheet says. Weaker matches are listed so you can check them.
The limit is 10,000 rows per file.
