Add medicines from the NMRA register

Search the national medicine register instead of typing names, and choose which lists are searched.

Your pharmacy comes with a searchable copy of the NMRA register of registered medicines. It is a list to search, not a copy of the register inside your stock. A medicine appears in your stock only when you add or receive it.

Add a drug

  1. Go to Stock and click Add drug.
  2. In Find in the medicine register, type the brand or generic name.
  3. Click a result. The name, generic name, form, strength and schedule are filled in.
  4. Enter your selling price and save.

If the medicine has a legal maximum price, a warning shows when your price is above it.

Which lists are searched

The default is the NMRA register from 2021 to 2026. The owner can also include the older 2019 gazette list, which holds medicines such as Panadol that are still on shelves but are not in the newer list. Older rows have no registration number or schedule.

To change it, open Settings, then Medicine register.

A medicine is not in the register

Add it by hand with Add drug, or choose + New drug (not in the list) while receiving an invoice. Medicines registered between August 2019 and April 2021 may be missing from both lists.
