Barcodes and price labels
Scan a barcode to add a drug to the bill, link new barcodes, and print price and barcode labels.
Scan in Sell
Click the drug search box, then scan with a USB scanner. The scanner works like a keyboard. Each scan adds one of that drug to the bill. Scan again to add another.
If the barcode is not linked to any drug yet:
- A pharmacist or the owner sees a box to find the drug. Pick it and the barcode is linked. The drug is added, and next time the scan works at once.
- A cashier is told to ask a pharmacist.
Scan in Receiving and in the shelf count
- Receiving: click a line's drug box and scan. The drug is chosen for that line. If the barcode is new, type the drug's name and pick it: the barcode is linked then.
- Today's count: scan in the box at the top to jump to that drug's row. A drug that is not on today's list opens its own count box.
- Stock: scan into the search box to open that drug.
Link barcodes to a drug
- Go to Stock, click the drug, then Edit.
- Under Barcodes, click the box and scan, or type the number, then click Add.
- A drug can have several barcodes. A barcode belongs to one drug only.
The drug has no barcode on the box? Click Make an in-store barcode. We make a valid EAN-13 number starting with 2 that you can print on a label and stick on the shelf or box.
Print price and barcode labels
- Go to Stock and click Print labels.
- Search and add the drugs, and set how many copies of each.
- Click Print. Each label shows the name, a barcode and the price.
A drug with no EAN-13 barcode gets an in-store one the first time. Set the label size in Settings, Labels, to the size of the roll in your label printer.
